First of all, the outpouring of emotions and memories and stories in Barry's book are just so great to read and we wanted to thank everyone who had anything to do with looking for Barry right here and now. We finally have a date for the memorial service in Newport. It will be held on Saturday, February 18th. There will be two parts. The service itself early afternoon and the "party" that same evening. We don't have any details as to where and what time yet. Everyone is welcome to both events (we DO know the spreading of the ashes will be at Halidon Hall at the base of the big trees there). Obviously that is not a party but a solemn occasion yet we still want everyone who wants to be there to join us for that occasion. More details to follow....

Thanks for the information, Bob. The fact that you include everyone means more than I can say. I wish I could be there.

Thanks Bob.
It goes without saying how grateful I am that the family is including friends and fans.
I'll see you in February.

Can anyone possibly wonder how we can love this family so much? It would've been perfectly reasonable and understandable to keep these events to close friends and family. What an extraordinary invitation!

I would dearly love to be there for all the events planned to memorialize Barry. Unless I win the California Lotto, I'm unable to go but I'll have my own 'ceremony' on the same day and be there in spirit. I promise that a rose will be planted and prayers said for Barry's resting soul and for his children's future.
Thank you, Bob and all the family, for including all of us in your invitation. I hate to use the word "closure", but the phrase 'peace of mind' comes to me. An opportunity to formally say farewell is very healing. My heart especially goes out to Susan, but I wish that I could be there to hug each of you in turn.

I'm so touched that we are all included! If I can't be there I would love to get together with all the local CS.com-ers for a get together here, because I know we will all be there, if not in person, in spirit. What a perfect way to honor Barry, a party with Cowsill family, friends and fans. Perfect.

Thank you so much for including us and extending the invitation to what is a solemn, private ceremony. Thank you also for giving us a way to say goodbye.
This is a wonderful way to honor Barry and I am very grateful that you extended an invitation to his friends and fans. It's definitely reasonable and understandable to keep it private, family only. Thank you and I will see you in February.

Thank you, Bob, for such a gracious invitation. As much as I want to be there, it's just not possible. But the invitation is so extraordinary and unbelievable. Know that I will be there in spirit. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your entire family.

Bob, thank you so very much for this special invitation. Although I wish to be there, but for many reasons I can't, I will be there in thoughts & prayers with you all, all day. I'd give anything to be there with you all just to hug, cry, laugh and closure. May God bless each and everyone of you always. I hope to see you all again soon. I love you all, peace, Maureen

Wow, thanks Bob. Although I have meetings all day on the Friday, I'm going to think seriously about trying to get there. What a special, though tragically sad, occasion and I'm honoured to be made feel welcome.

Sounds like a wonderful celebration of the life of a very special person, a person that gave everything he had every time he could. I just hope the wind is blowing my way on that special day...... God bless you all.
