Does anybody know what the date of the last show Bill performed with the family before leaving the group? I'd heard it was the Cleveland dates that became The Cowsills In Concert album but don't know whether to believe that or not.

When Billy told the story of leaving the band on "Undiscovered Country", I think he said they were playing in Las Vegas when he left. But that's just what I remember from it and my impression, I could be SO wrong.

I saw them in concert at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. in 1970 ( I THINK ). It definately had to be close to the last one because Bill was obviously unhappy, made evident by some of the comments he made. If memory serves ( and we all know about how fickle our memory is these days!! At least, the post 40 and closing in quickly on 50 group), Barbara wasn't with them. I remember being depressed after that concert because the other 2 concerts I got to see were sooooo upbeat and great. It definately was one of the last ones, unfortunately.

Hi Lindy!
I was also in attendance at The Cowsills' show in Natchitoches! The date of that concert was 6/28/72. I remember Bob telling me then that his son Jason was one month old that day! Bill, Bob, Barry, and John had regrouped to try to change their image and do what the 4 of them had wanted to do in the beginning of their career. They were moving toward performing harder rock. The music that night was fantastic--they were really rocking! That night was the first time I ever heard Bill sing a few country songs, and he was totally awesome!

Wow, Marsha! You remember A LOT more of that concert than I do ( I wonder what I was smoking.....). 1972,huh? Makes sense because my sister was going to NSU at the time and it was her and her husband ( #1 ) who took me. Again, I am impressed with your powers of recall.....
