Hello everyone. I wish that I had some good news to report to you in our seach for Barry...the search has ended...with...with heartbreaking news. We, the family, have learned that as of today that with 99.9% surety Barry Steven Cowsill is no longer with us. We truly know that he is already in the arms of our Mother Barbara...he is safe. Regardless of how he died (which will come in an update) all of us know that Barry had issues...but they did not factor in his death...katrina did...and being in vietnam myself...i realized that he was in a jungle...not of his own accord...and Bee just could not find the right trail out and was consumed. We realize that all of you being true friends will allow us to put things in order take final care of our beloved friend and brother. Please respect our feelings and wishes...we decided to let you know what we know. Let us tell you...in closing we have to say that we are extremly appreciate your love...devotion and most of all your continued friendship...so lets all of us say a pray that he finally got a license...good night..God bless..be in touch asap

I am so sorry about Barry, back in the late 60's I was such a big fan I drove my mom crazy, with the Cowsill posters on my bedroom wall, saving my money for Cowsill albums. Barry was my favorite I was so in love with him. ( as in love as a 11 year old can be). I wrote him a letter and he actually wrote me back. I wish I still had that letter. I really wanted to see the Cowsills in concert, but the only time they where to come to Ohio they cancelled. I was going to go for my birthday present. My prayers are with all of you and mostly his children. He is with his mom now and is out of pain. I know how you feel I lost my own mother on January 2, 2002. The pain never goes away. I had a grandson stillborn in 1997, so I have had my share of loss. I hope this helps your family somehow. Sincerely Doris Jameson doris_jameson@yahoo.com

To Richard and all the Cowsills: I am deeply sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and with Barry. I pray that his soul is now at peace. He and my late husband Peter had a special bond-personally and professionally. I hope they are both rockin' in heaven. God Bless you all. With deepest sympathy, Nicki Flynn

He touched so many, brought warmth of friendship, love of family, camaraderie among artists. The why of his suffering and leaving without a good-bye is God's mystery. We must be consoled that he is in a better place, in the good company of those who've gone before us and in the loving arms of God. My heart and prayers go to his family, friends and loved ones. The grief will ease in time. Barry will live on thru his children and their children.... his life will be celebrated as he lived it, with music.
Sympathy and Blessings, Joanne Taufa

It has saddened my heart to hear the awful news of Barry. My heart goes out to the Cowsill family. I had the honor many years ago to meet Barry and John ( of course my favorites) back then and I got their autograph and still have it to this day. I will keep treasuring them forever. It was a thrill for me as I was young to see them in concert and all the girls chasing Barry around. God Bless the Cowsill family, prayers will be said in your honor. Barry can now be in the loving arms of his mother. With loving thoughts and prayers....... Doreen Chicopee Mass.

Hi,
I was very surprised to hear about Barry. As a teenager I saw the Cowsills at least 10 times and Barry was always my favorite. (I guess you can say I was infatuated with him) Through the Cowsills I made many friends during my trips along with my mom and my pen pals I would meet at the concerts. I know even some of my pictures have been posted on the web site. Barry is with his mom now and in a better place. I will pray for all of his family and hope every day life gets easier. If any of my old pen pals would like to get in touch. Please do . Kathy(Ozog) Wingert kwdiet@aol.com

To Richard and all of the Cowsills, My heart aches and I am still in disbelief about Barry's passing. My friends and I were so in love with Barry and John, and had our bedroom walls plastered with their photos. We read all the teen magazines and fantasised about marrying them one day....as millions of other young teen girls did. We listened to our 45's over and over again....probably driving our parents crazy. When we saw you in concert, it was nothing short of magical! Your family is so incredibly talented. You have such a unique and wonderful sound. I hope that Barry is looking down from Heaven and realizes how many lives he has touched. To the Cowsill family, I am truly sorry for your tremendous loss and I pray that with time....the pain will be eased. Thank you to you all for the magic and the memories. Love, Karen

I am very saddened to hear the outcome in the search for Barry. I was praying he would be found safe and sound. I will take comfort knowing that he is at peace and with his mother now. My condolences to all of the Cowsills ... you are in my heart and in my prayers. Love, Sarah.
