Well.............It would have been nice to throw out another "Happy" post.........We sure need more, is right! But after watching Johnny Flander's tribute to Barry...............moves me so........knowing that there was so much more of life for him to live.

That was a beautiful tribute and one of my favorite songs.....Very sad, indeed that Barry's life ended so soon - but look at all the lives he touched with his music, his poems, his sense of humor and his love for his family....That's a life well lived.....and we are all the better for having him in ours. Well.............It would have been nice to throw out another "Happy" post.........We sure need more, is right! But after watching Johnny Flander's tribute to Barry...............moves me so........knowing that there was so much more of life for him to live.

It's very good that I had my handkerchief at work today. I turned a few heads when I gasped and started sniffling right away. That black screen with first image? It's enough to break your heart again. Very nicely done, Johnny, and thank you for sharing with us.

Where can I find this tribute? Go to Barry's home page and there's a link there. Have your kleenexes ready. It's very moving and touching. Johnny, if you're out there, that was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for saying volumes with pictures and music expressing what we all feel.

I heard about this tribute from Barb M via an e-mail that I opened before work this morning at about 6 a.m. I was told I'd need kleenex but that was an understatement. I tried to watch it once more at work and couldn't do it (and I can generally keep my emotions in check pretty well.)
The song was perfect and the images were so beautiful...especially the fade to the hat at the end.
This was so well done. But warning: anyone who hasn't yet watched it--make sure you're in a place that it's ok to sob.

I must be completely stupid -- where is Barry's home page? Sorry to be so obtuse about this.

I must be completely stupid -- where is Barry's home page? Sorry to be so obtuse about this. It's okay, you're NOT stupid, we're just dealing with a new way to navigate the website. If you enter the Cowsill.com Home page, pull up the "Site Map" in the section of links under the photos. Then click on Barry's name. Here's a direct link so scroll down, make sure your volume is on & have a tissue handy... >>> Barry's History Page

No need to pull up the site map? Go to Cowill.com and click on the Barry banner on the top and you'll be at Barry's page.
Or click on the Cowsill logo and click on Barry's name in the History section. This is the same as it always was.

I saw this a few days ago and it was chilling to watch. What a beautiful tribute. It's perfect from the beginning to the end and the end was SO sad, the fading away..... I cried for the person he was, the father he was and how much he loved his kids, for the loss of his music and he was such a creative artist and amazingly gifted with words, for his family's loss of a brother that I can so identify with and I cried for the loss in my life of a friend.
Just when you think you're having a good day, you can smile at a few things then something reminds you of this loss and you're back down and have to climb up again.
I can imagine this was difficult to put together in its creation but it is one of the most beautiful tributes I have EVER seen. Thank you, Johnny Flanders.

I saw this the other night, too...it was a wonderful tribute and very fitting for such a wonderful man who has unwittingly effected so many of us, many he has never met. But has been in our memories and in our hearts -- even when we weren't aware of it! Thanks, Johnny.....it is awesome.
